Dear Readers,
Innovation, determination, and bold ideas continue to shape the future of Carson City, Nevada. Throughout Carson City, those beginnings are turning into thriving ventures that shape our local economy and strengthen our community. As we developed this year’s edition of Entrepreneurs in Action, we set out not just to tell stories, but to understand the drive behind them. What we found was a powerful reminder that entrepreneurship is fueled by resilience, creativity, and an unwavering belief in possibility
This magazine is truly a student-driven publication. The articles were written through collaboration between marketing students and the business professionals who generously shared their time and insight. Members of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) worked diligently to secure advertisements, coordinate outreach, and help bring this publication to life. Under the guidance of our advisors, Cody Downing and Areli Sanabria, we were challenged to think critically, communicate professionally, and operate at real-world standards.
We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to our project leaders, Jon Rogers and Jenny Treece, whose leadership and vision guided this publication from concept to completion. Their dedication, organization, and commitment to excellence were instrumental in making this edition possible. Additionally, we are incredibly thankful for our sales mentors, Tom Dubos and Robert Hodgson, whose enormous contribution, mentorship, and hard work gave us invaluable experience beyond the classroom. Their insight into professional communication, relationship-building, and sales strategy made a lasting impact on our team.
In our marketing classes and through FBLA, we study business strategy, branding, leadership, and financial planning. This project, however, allowed us to move beyond textbooks and see those lessons unfold in real time. We learned that entrepreneurship is not simply about owning a business — it is about vision, adaptability, and the courage to pursue opportunity even when outcomes are uncertain
In this year’s edition of Entrepreneurs in Action, we introduce you to individuals who are making a meaningful impact across Carson City. From small startups to established family businesses, from creative professionals to innovators breaking new ground, these stories reflect the strength and diversity of our local economy.
As students, this experience has been both inspiring and transformative. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to gain hands-on business experience and thankful for the many community members who supported this project. This journey has shown us that opportunity does not exist only in distant places — it thrives right here at home.
