Goods for Charity

Shaping a Better Future

Submitted by Goods for Charity

Goods for Charity was founded by industry experts with 20+ years of experience in special waste management. After witnessing countless goods go to waste, they leveraged their corporate connections to redirect excess and faulty products to those in need. As logistics specialists, they ensure efficient transport and packaging, even to remote locations. Now, they’re using their expertise to make a real impact—helping communities, one shipment at a time.

Jason Parr and Bryan Alley lead the charge— coordinating donations, delivering aid, and setting up relief sites. Their most recent project benefited those affected by the tragic fires in Los Angeles. Passionate about giving back, they also co-founded
EOL Stewards, helping corporations manage consumer goods sustainably for over 20 years. Jason, a dedicated family man, has even brought his sons, Waylon and Dean, into the GFC team, making it a true family effort.

“Goods for Charity isn’t just about donations— it’s about fostering a culture of giving that spans generations.”

GFC has a per-pound pricing model, which makes second-hand clothing affordable for those in need and the nonprofits that support them. The GFC thrift store prioritizes resources over profit, serving as a community hub run by local high school students under the guidance of business professionals. Proceeds from donations and the thrift store benefit many different causes because people and companies care deeply about a variety of causes. Some may have a passion for protecting the environment, while others wish to support animal welfare or other vital areas. With the “FUND YOUR CAUSE” program, people get to choose where their impact goes. GFC partners with hundreds of nonprofits across sectors, including education, environmental conservation, poverty alleviation, wellness, animal welfare, and disaster relief. Recently, GFC has gained popularity in the community as a hub for fashion and art, giving it a fun and inviting
atmosphere.

Goods for Charity isn’t just about donations—it’s about fostering a culture of giving that spans generations. Jason’s sons, Waylon and Dean Parr, are carrying on that mission in their own ways. Waylon, a Carson High student, has been a key part of the school’s digital media program for the past three years. He’s best known for his character “Bennie the Brit,” a humorous take on high school life that resonates with students and faculty alike.

Now, Waylon is expanding his impact through Waylon’s World, a local radio show on KNVC 95.1. Partnering with CHS teacher Mr. Will Houk, Waylon highlights the talents and aspirations of his peers, giving them a platform to share their stories. His work, much like Goods for Charity, is about using passion and resources to uplift others. Waylon said he chooses as guests those who often are not recognized for their talents. “The students I pick are kind of, I’d say, undervalued talent here in Carson City, and I try to give them a voice,” he said. “I’ll obviously do my research and ask them questions based on what they do.”

Meanwhile, Dean is actively involved in GFC’s operations, helping deliver aid and ensuring donations reach those in need. “What inspires me most about GFC is we are able to empower people, one piece of clothing at a time.” says Dean Parr. By blending experience with youthful energy, Goods for Charity is not only providing aid but also inspiring the next generation to carry the mission forward.
